Founded in 2017, Open New York is a grassroots, member organization that fights for lower rents and abundant homes across New York City and State. In addition to working at the City and State level to make it easier to build homes by-right, we work in tandem with our members to make sure pro-home voices are heard during local land use decisions. If you have a project you feel we should advocate for, we welcome you to fill out the following form. Projects are considered on a rolling basis based on alignment, capacity, and interest. We are more likely to support projects that include a significant portion of affordable housing, are in close proximity to the subway or commuter rail, sit on underutilized land like a parking lot or gas station, and/or are in a community that has not done their part to address our housing crisis.
